A Louisiana 2009 Itinerary
March 27th, 2009 by elizabethI haven’t been back to Louisiana since May 2008 and I’ve been very much itching to go back this year, at least twice. To jump start my trip down there (and taking a long a friend whom will be introduced to Louisiana for the first time), I’ve set up an itinerary of things I need to attend this year (April 23rd-April 28th):
Possible flight routes:
- Burbank, California –>Austin, Texas (visit friends) –> drive to Houston, TX –> drive to New Orleans, LA
- Burbank, California –>Seattle, Wa (visit friends) –>New Orleans, Louisiana
- Burbank, California –>New Orleans, Louisiana
Hotel: $75 a night studio apartment on Canal Street. (Of note is the Canal Streetcar line that can be taken for $1.25 each way to a variety of places, including the fairgrounds which host the annual spring time Jazz & Heritage Festival)
Rental Car: ~ $100/3 days
Swamp tour: $25
Laura Plantation: $15 (a revisit – there are a few photo opportunities I missed last time)
A walk through the Garden District. I miss the magnolias.
French Quarter Market (revisit)
Jackson Square (revisit)
Eat, drink, and play on Magazine Street
